Issue:
When orbiting the camera in Fusion, the orbit pivot point is shown as a small green dot. By default, the orbit pivot point is at the center of the bounding box around the component group in a Fusion design. How to change or reset the orbit pivot center point in Fusion?
Solution:
To change the orbit pivot point in Fusion:
- Right-click anywhere off the design in the Design workspace.
- Select "Set Orbit Center".
- Click the area desired for the pivot point.
- Then use "Shift+Orbit" command (middle mouse button by default).
Note:
- The new pivot point will not work with the View Cube. Shift+Orbit command (middle mouse button by default) must be used for a custom orbit pivot point.
- If this option for Set Orbit Center or Reset Orbit Center is not available, click into a blank area of the model workspace. These options are not available if any part of the model is highlighted or hovered over.
- This technique works for all zoom, orbit, commands, and preferences in Fusion - Fusion, Alias, Inventor, SolidWorks, Tinkercad, and PowerMill style controls.
To reset the orbit pivot point to the center of the bounding box for the component group:
- Right-click anywhere off the design in the model workspace.
- Select "Reset Orbit Center" from the drop-down menu.
