Issue:
How to upload an assembly file (.SLDASM) from Solidworks into Fusion 360.NOTE: All the .SLDPRT files will need to be accessible, only a .SLDASM file will not suffice.
Solution:
To upload a Solidworks Assembly into Fusion 360.
- In Solidworks with the .SLDASM file open, select File > Pack and Go.
- Save the File on the hard drive.
- Open the Upload dialogue in Fusion 360 and either use Select Files to search for the file or Drag and Drop the file onto the upload area.
- Fusion 360 will ask to ''Identify one top-level assembly file''.
- Fusion 360 will identify any probable top-level files with a radial button to the left of the file.
- Select the most sensible top-level component of the assembly so Fusion 360 can then structure the other components from that one.
- Then select Upload and wait for the Upload process to complete.
- Now the file will be in the selected Fusion 360 Project Folder.
