Issue:
When importing an STL into Fusion, the design is too dark and features are hard to see. A way to lighten the model is needed.
Causes:
Each triangle of the mesh has a visible edge. When visible edges are turned on, they are represented by black lines. If the mesh has enough triangles, the entire model will appear black and features may be hard to distinguish.
Solution:
To remove the visible edges so you can see the mesh features:
- Click on the icon of the monitor in the view toolbar at the bottom middle of the workspace.
- Hover over "Visual Style".
- Select "Shaded".
- The Visible edges will no longer be edged in black and the features should be visible.
To reduce the amount of triangles in the mesh to limit the black edges:
- Select the "Reduce" tool in the Modify ribbon of the Mesh toolbar.
- Reduce the mesh triangles by an amount that will allow you to see the features of the model.
