Issue:
Users have asked how to render a Motion Study in Fusion.Causes:
The icon to render a Motion Study may not be visible if the rendering was not set up incorrect process.Solution:
Videos / Motion study rendering can only be performed on the cloud. Tokens will be needed to obtain the result. The icon to render a Motion Study may not be visible if the rendering was not set up in the correct process. There are three types of rendering to be aware of in Autodesk Fusion.
- First, there is a default render that is completed as part of a derivative service (Render on Save). Every time a design is saved in Fusion 360, this rendering engine will automatically Render the Named Views in the design. These renders can be seen as thumbnails in the Item Details in the dashboard (web browser hub) or in the Render Gallery. In the render Gallery, they can be chosen to re-render with some limited options.
- Second, there is a local Render option which is utilized by using the In-Canvas Render command in the Render workspace's ribbon.
- Last, there is a Cloud Render option, which is utilized by the Render command in the ribbon of the Render workspace. These renders will also show in the Item Details or in the Render Gallery.
To render a motion study, follow these steps:
- Create the Motion Study in the design.
- Save the design.
- Create a rendering of the current version of the design. It is required to re-render previously rendered still images to use them for a Motion Study - this will update them to the current version of the design.
Note: Renderings of previous versions from before the Motion Study was created will not show the option to render the Motion Study.
- Open the rendering preview created in Step #3.
- Select the image in the Render Gallery to "Re-Render".
- Click Play to access the ability to render Motion Studies.
