Control visibility during Edit In Place

Use the Visibility Control tool to control component visibility and appearance during Edit In Place in Fusion.

  1. In the Browser, click Edit In Place next to an external component to activate it edit in place icon.

  2. At the top of the canvas, open the Edit In Place menu.

  3. Click Visibility Control visibility icon.

    Edit In Place Visibility Control dialog displays.

  4. Turn on or off the Visibility to show or hide referenced objects.

  5. Set the Opacity to set transparency for referenced objects.

  6. Turn on or off the Visibility to show or hide non-referenced objects.

  7. Set the Opacity to set transparency for non-referenced objects.

  8. Choose the Visual Style for non-referenced objects:

    • Shaded with Visible Edges
    • Shaded
    • Wireframe with Visible Edges
    • Wireframe
  9. Optional: Select the Override Component Colors checkbox to apply the desired visibility and style settings even if components have custom appearances.

  10. Continue your edits.

  11. Click Finish Edit In Place when finished.

Tip: Select the Override Component Colors checkbox to color Reference Objects in purple and Non-Reference Objects in yellow, while Edit In Place components retain their normal colors.
