Fork public libraries

Create a copy of a public library in your hub to customize its components for your projects.

Forking a public library lets you make changes to components without affecting the original library. This is useful when you need to modify existing components or add custom properties.

Prerequisites

Steps

  1. In the Electronics Library Manager, click the Public tab to view available public libraries.
  2. Find the library you want to fork and right-click on it.
  3. Select Copy as New Hub Library Fork library icon from the menu.
  4. Save the new hub library with a descriptive name.
  5. Wait for the library to finish uploading to your hub.

Next steps

After forking the library, you can:

  • Use components: Access components from your new hub library in the Place Panel.
  • Edit components: Customize components as needed for your projects.
  • Add components: Create new components in your forked library.
