Design Rules categories
Fusion divides design rules into categories based on their type. Each category has two checking levels: Live DRC and Manual DRC. By default, Fusion enables all rule categories for Manual DRC.
Fusion splits rule categories into unary and binary types:
- Unary Rules: Apply to a single object, for example, Copper Width or Drill Size.
- Binary Rules: Apply to two objects, for example, Copper Clearance or Board Outline Clearance.
Rule Category Levels
Live DRC
When enabled, Fusion checks the rule categories during a Live DRC run. This occurs at the end of any interactive workflow when the data model changes.
Manual DRC
When enabled, Fusion checks the rule category during Manual DRC runs. You can run Manual DRC using one of the following methods:
DRC
on the command line Interface (CLI).- Click Check Design Rules on the rules toolbar.
