Edit an existing electronics library

Open and edit an existing electronics library to modify components, add new parts, or update library content. You can access your library through the Data Panel or the Library Manager.

Prerequisites

  • Hub or project access: You must have access to the hub or project containing the electronics library you want to edit

Steps

  1. Choose one of the following methods to open your library:

Method 1: Using the Data Panel

  1. In the upper left corner of the Fusion window, click Show Data Panel.
  2. Find the project and folder containing the library.
  3. Double-click to open the library in the Library Workspace.

Method 2: Using the Library Manager

  1. Open an Electronics Library, Schematic, or 2D PCB document.
  2. Open the Electronics Library Manager.
  3. In the Hub Libraries tab, find the library you want to edit.
  4. Select the library and click Edit in the top right, or right-click the library and select Edit Library.

What you can do next

Once your library opens in the Library Workspace, you can:

  • Add components: Create new schematic symbols, footprints, components, or 3D packages.
  • Edit existing parts: Modify component properties, symbols, footprints layouts, or 3D package geometry.
  • Update library information: Change library name or description.
  • Delete components: Remove outdated or unused parts from your library.
