Locking objects
The Lock command enables you to fix components on the board, so they can't be moved, rotated, or mirrored. This is useful for things like connectors, which need to be mounted at a particular location and must not be inadvertently moved.
Locks can be applied to components, traces, vias, holes, labels, and other text on a board. They can also be used with groups.
Note: If a group is moved and it contains locked objects, these objects will not move with the group. Detached texts of a locked part can still be moved individually, but they won't move with a group.
The origin of a locked part is displayed as an 'x' as a visual indication that the part is locked. For locked wires and vias, the locked state is shown by a padlock symbol.
Locks are persistent across sessions until purposely unlocked. Shift+Lock releases the component again. You can also unlock all locked objects in the current layer with the Unlock All tool.
