Renumbering designators

Use Renumber Designators to automatically renumber component reference designators in your design. This helps maintain a logical numbering sequence after adding, removing, or reorganizing components.

You can renumber designators in both the Schematic and 2D PCB editors. Depending on the view, Renumber Designators offers different options that control which components are renumbered and how they are sequenced, including:

• Numbering schemes
• Scope options
• Grouping settings

Renumber Designators is also available from the command line as RENUMBERREFDESG.

Limitations

If library prefixes are overridden, they will be updated to the original prefix in the library.
