Get started with a new design document

When you launch Fusion it opens in the Home tab, where you can create a new project or open an existing project. By default a new untitled design document is created for you.

  1. At the top of the Fusion window, click the Untitled tab to switch views.

  2. In the upper left corner of the Fusion window, click Show Data Panel Data Panel icon to open the Data Panel.

  3. Create a new project if you do not have one for Electronics Design.

  4. Create a folder for each design.

  5. At the top of the Fusion window, click File New file icon > New Electronics Design to create a new, blank, electronics document.

    From within this document, you can create a schematic, a 2D PCB, and a 3D PCB.

  6. In the Common tab, click New Schematic New Schematic on the left to start with a blank sheet, or Reference a Schematic Reference Schematic to link to an existing schematic.

  7. In the Common tab, click New PCB New Schematic to start from scratch, or Reference a PCB document New Schematic to link to an existing PCB.

  8. Click Save to give the design and related documents a name.
