Activity 6: Select bottom-side components on a board
In this activity, you select bottom-side components on a board to see their details in the Inspector panel. This allows you to quickly identify components and their properties on different layers of the board.
Prerequisites
- Activity 5 is complete.
Steps
In the Design Manager panel, on the Browser tab, in the View drop-down list, select Components.
In Component Sets list, click Bottom Side Components.
Note: For any selected component you can see the details in Inspector panel, in the Properties of Components group.In Components list, see the range of bottom components. Click one or more components to zoom them in on the canvas.
Note: Name labels are written backward because they are printed on the bottom side of the board.Click the Selection Filter panel.
In Types group, click Component, and in the Layers group, click Bottom.
On the circuit board, draw Window Selection rectangle around an area of interest. The bottom components are highlighted with white outlines and blue pads.
Note: Components also show in the Inspector panel, in the Selected Objects list. When selected from there, properties show in the Properties of Component group above.

In this activity, you used the Selection Filter to select components on the bottom layer of the board. This allowed you to see their details in the Inspector panel.
