New Component reference

In the New Component dialog, you can create a new internal or external component in the assembly in Fusion.

Design > Solid or Surface or Sheet Metal > Create or Assemble > New Component

Component Type

• Standard: Creates a standard component in the assembly.
• Sheet Metal: Creates a sheet metal component in the assembly.

External

Select this option to create the new component in an external design and reference it in the current design.

Internal

Select this option to create the new component directly in the current design.

Name

Enter name for the new component.

The name displays in the browser.

Location (External only)

The default location matches the location of the selected parent component.

From Bodies (Internal only)

Check to select one ore more bodies and create a separate component for each.

Parent

Select the parent component in the browser.

The new component will display beneath the parent component in the browser.

Activate

Check to activate the new component once it is created.

Sheet Metal Rule (Sheet Metal component type only)

Select a sheet metal rule from the library.
