Drawing templates
In the Drawing workspace in Fusion, you can create drawing templates to apply consistent standards across new drawings you and your team create, saving you time and effort later.
A drawing template stores pre-configured custom title blocks, borders, document settings, sheets, sheet settings, placeholder views, automated center lines and center marks settings, table placeholders, text, and images.
Use a drawing template so that you don't have to set up your drawing preferences from scratch each time you create a drawing.
When you use a drawing template to create a drawing, Fusion analyzes the referenced design and automatically:
- Applies your custom document settings
- Creates sheets with your custom sheet settings, title block, border, text, and images on them
- Generates drawing views for the design assembly where base and placeholder views are placed
- Generates a parts list for the design assembly where the table placeholder is placed

Template contextual environment
When you create a drawing template, or edit an existing drawing template, you enter the Template contextual environment.
You can create and modify document settings, sheet settings, sheets, title blocks, borders, base view and projected view placeholders, table placeholders, text, and images.
Once you finish customizing your drawing template, you can save it within a project in the Data Panel.
You can then:
- Select the drawing template in the Create Drawing dialog when you create a drawing.
- Open the drawing template to modify it.
- Share the drawing template with other team members.
