Modify your model
Use the Simplify commands to:
- simplify the model
- create simulation model variants
For a practical example of using the Simplify tools, refer to the Thermal Stress tutorial.

- From the Setup tab, select
Simplify to access the Simplify tools.
- From the Simplify Solid or Simplify Surface tab, select Create > New Simulation Model
.
- This creates another simulation model based on the production geometry as the starting point.
- Right-click a Simulation Model x heading and select Clone Simulation Model from the context menu. This action creates a new simulation model based on the current one as the starting point.
- Right-click a Simulation Model x heading and select
Delete Simulation Model from the context menu to delete it. Note that you cannot delete the only remaining simulation model.
- From the Simplify Solid or Simplify Surface tab, select Finish Simplify
to return to the Simulation workspace.
The Simplify tools in the Simulation workspace are similar to modeling ones in the Design workspace. For help using these commands see:
