Tutorial: Animating a design

Use animation methods, such as exploded views, trail lines, and annotations, to communicate the assembly design to collaborators, stakeholders and customers. You can share animations in a video file or view them in a web browser using the Fusion web client.

In this tutorial, you:

  • Create an animation.
  • Explode the assembly.
  • Edit an animation.
  • Add trail lines.
  • Add annotations.
  • Publish and share animations.

Prerequisites

  • Open the Data Panel if necessary data panel icon and click New Project and enter the project Animation Tutorial to create a project folder. If you do not want to create a new project, create a folder for this tutorial.

  • Open the Data Panel if necessary data panel icon and click Basic Training>10_Animations, to open the 10_Animation_Introduction part.

  • Click File > Save as and save the design with the name Utility Knife Animation in the Animation Tutorial project or folder you just created.

  • In the Data Panel, navigate to the location where you saved the Utility Knife Animation design.

  • Change the Workspace from Design to Animation.

Note: The top ribbon changes to include commands specific to animations, and an animation timeline appears at the bottom of the screen.
