Create cutting (slice) planes
Use cutting planes to view the interior of the model. The instructions vary slightly, depending on whether the study uses the Standard results viewer or the Online viewer
For studies using the Standard results viewer
In the Results tab, select Inspect > Create Slice Plane
to open the Slice Plane dialog.
Select a surface to initially create the plane.
Select a style:
Shaded shows a clear contour inside the model.
Mesh Lines displays the lines created by slicing through the elements. This is useful to diagnose if the analysis may require a tighter mesh.
Vectors displays the direction of the result using arrows.
Cliping hides the model on one side of the plane.
If you selected
Vectors, change the display vector and the glyph size, where appropriate.
To switch which side of the model is hidden, click
Flip Clip .
Change the angle and location of the plane using the grips, or by manual entry in the dialog box.
Click OK to accept the changes and close the dialog.
