Change orders
This feature is part of an extension. Extensions are a flexible way to access additional capabilities in Fusion. Learn more.
A change order logs and tracks changes to Fusion designs and drawings that have been assigned item numbers. When you release a design or drawing with a change order using the Fusion Manage Extension, a change order is created with the corresponding design item or drawing item associated to it. Like a design item or a drawing item, a change order is assigned a unique item number. The change order number is used to track the change order through the process management workflow.
A change order can affect multiple design items and drawing items. However, a design item and a drawing item can be associated with only one change order at a time.
A change order includes:
- Title: a one line description of the change order (required)
- Approvers: required team members with the authority to approve the work identified in the change order (required)
- Reason for Change: one of a pre-defined set of brief reasons for submitting the change (required)
- Description of Change: the details of the change
- Priority: the level of importance for the change (required)
- Reviewers: team members who have been asked to provide optional feedback
- Owner: the team member who created the change order
- Additional Owners: other team members who can take ownership responsibility
- Affected Items: a list of all the design items and drawing items affected by the change order
- Due Dates: key milstone dates for keeping the change order work on schedule
- Attachments: additional files required for processing the change order or relevant to the design items and drawing items
- Approval Workflow: the process management workflow for tracking the progress of the change order. Workflow actions move the change order from one workflow state to another.
