A design item is a Fusion design that has been assigned an item number using the Manage extension. The design item represents the design in process management workflows and lifecycle management. The design item is not the design itself, but a means of tracking the design. The design item number is a unique number generated by Fusion Manage when an item number is assigned.
When you create a change order for a design, the design item is associated with the change order. A design item can be associated with only one change order at a time.
A design item includes:
- Properties: design properties imported from the Fusion design
- View: a referenced 3D model of the associated Fusion design file
