Tutorial 2: Item numbering and properties
Fusion Manage
Fusion Manage requires a separate license and can be used with Fusion or independently. Learn more.
When you assign an item number to a component or drawing, this creates the item record in your Fusion Manage site where you can subsequently manage its lifecycle and integrate it into other processes managed there. In this tutorial, you'll assign an item number to a component and drawing and then explore the properties of the item. You'll also add Manage properties to a drawing so that you can see how they update as the model and drawing progress through its lifecycle in later tutorials.
Important: It is assumed that you are performing these tutorials in your production environment. Therefore, we recommend that you read through the relevant help pages and activities so that you know what the result will be before creating or modifying anything.
Prerequisites
Before you can complete these activities, you must:
- Complete Tutorial 1 so that you are familiar with Fusion Manage concepts.
- Ensure your administrator has configured at least two item numbering rules and left the default rule active.
- Ensure your administrator has granted you access to create your own project, or has invited you to a project where you can save and edit components and drawings in your own folder. This is so that your data is not mixed up with others who may work through these same tutorials.
