Change the surface finish

The Surface Finish command shows you how changing the surface finish on your part might improve the appearance of surface defects.

Steps

1. On the Setup toolbar, select Results panel > Simulation Results to enter the Results environment.

2. In the Results environment, select the

   1. Visual defects tab if you are in the Guided Results tab
   2. Sink mark depth result if you are in Results tab.

3. Above the Sink mark depth legend, select Visualization from the drop-down menu, to activate the Surface Finish command.

4. On the Results toolbar, select Surface Finish panel > Surface Finish to open the Surface Finish dialog.

5. Move the Reflectivity and Surface texture sliders to increase and decrease their effect.

6. Click Close to finish viewing the result.

Tips

• Increase the magnification of the sink marks in the Result Settings above the legend.
• Rotate the model so you can see the reflectivity effectively.
