Create a plane tangent to a face at a point
Learn how to use the Plane Tangent To Face At Point tool to create a construction plane that is tangent to a cylindrical or conical face at a specific point in Fusion.
On the toolbar, select Construct > Plane Tangent To Face At Point
.
The Plane Tangent To Face At Point dialog displays.
In the canvas, select the cylindrical or conical face.
Select the point.
Click OK.
The new construction plane displays in the canvas, tangent to the face you selected at the point you selected.
Tips
- Create construction planes when you want to create sketches that do not lie on one of the 3 default planes.
- Use construction planes as the input for other tools, like the cutting tool for the Split Body tool.
- Use a Plane Tangent To Face At Point when you want to make the location easier to select.
