Create a plane through three points

Learn how to use the Plane Through Three Points tool to create a construction plane that passes through three points or vertices in Fusion.

  1. On the toolbar, select Construct > Plane Through Three Points plane through three points icon.

    The Plane Through Three Points dialog displays.

  2. In the canvas, select the first point or vertex.

  3. Select the second point or vertex.

  4. Select the third point or vertex.

  5. Click OK.

The new construction plane displays in the canvas, passing through the three points or vertices you selected.

Tips

  • Create construction planes when you want to create sketches that do not lie on one of the 3 default planes.
  • Use construction planes as the input for other tools, like the cutting tool for the Split Body tool.
  • Use a Plane Through Three Points when you want to create a connecting body between existing bodies.
