Manage plastic rules in a design

Learn how to use the Manage Plastic Rules to create new rules, edit existing rules, or save rules to a library to use them in multiple designs in Fusion.

Edit a plastic rule

  1. On the Design toolbar, select Plastic > Setup > Manage Plastic Rules manage plastic rules icon.

    The Manage Plastic Rules dialog displays.

  2. In the dialog, right-click the rule you want to edit.

  3. Select Edit Rule.

    The Edit Rule dialog displays.

  4. In the dialog:

    • Enter a name for the plastic rule.
    • Select a plastic physical material from the Material Library to assign to components that use this plastic rule.
    • Specify the values.
  5. Click Save.

The plastic rule updates and any components that use the plastic rule update to reflect the changes.

Create a new plastic rule

  1. On the Design toolbar, select Plastic > Setup > Manage Plastic Rules manage plastic rules icon.

    The Manage Plastic Rules dialog displays.

  2. In the dialog, right-click the rule you want to start from.

  3. Select New Rule.

    The New Rule dialog displays.

  4. In the dialog:

    • Enter a name for the plastic rule.
    • Select a plastic physical material from the Material Library to assign to components that use this plastic rule.
    • Specify the values.
  5. Click Save.

The new plastic rule is created.

Delete a plastic rule

  1. On the Design toolbar, select Plastic > Setup > Manage Plastic Rules manage plastic rules icon.

    The Manage Plastic Rules dialog displays.

  2. Select a Library rule.

  3. Right-click on a rule name and select Delete.

The plastic rule is removed from the cloud library.

Tips

  • Plastic rules In This Design are local to the active document. Plastic rules in the Library are stored in the cloud library.
  • Right-click a rule name and select Set As Default to set it as the default plastic rule.
