Edit Face reference

Edit Face creates T-Spline faces, edges, and vertices on the selected BRep face.

Design > Modify > Edit Face edit face icon

Note: Available in Direct Modeling Mode only. To start direct modeling, expand the Create drop-down, and select Create Base Feature.

Solid and Surface Edit Face

Face

Enables the selection of a single face to edit.

Transform Mode

Controls the orientation of the manipulator.

  • World Space Orients the manipulator with the model origin.
  • View Space Orients the manipulator relative the to current view of the model.
  • Local Orients the manipulator relative to the selected objects.

Selection Filter

Specifies the type of geometry that is available for selection.

  • Vertex Only vertices are available for selection. Vertices are displayed on the model.
  • Edge Only edges are available for selection.
  • Face Only faces are available for selection.
  • All Vertices, edges, and faces are available for selection.

Loop Selection

Selects a loop based on the current selection.

Preview Check

Displays a preview of the final shape.

Subdivide Faces

Specifies the number of faces.

  • Length
  • Width
  • Contour Spacing

Curvature Combs

Displays curvature combs along the length or width of the model.

Symmetry

Enables symmetry on the model. The type of symmetry available is dependent on the selected geometry.

Numerical Inputs

Provides fields to enter numeric values to move the manipulator. You can also drag the manipulator in the application.

Tips

Increase the number of faces to give more control over the shape. You should use the minimum number of faces to give the desired control over the shape.
