Create sheet metal rules

Use the Sheet Metal Rules dialog to define parameters for new sheet metal rules.

Create a sheet metal rule

1. In the Design workspace, on the Sheet Metal tab, select Modify > Sheet Metal Rules .
2. Expand the Library drop-down, hover over any existing rule, and select New Rule . Or, right-click, then select New Rule.
3. Specify the rule, then click Save.

Delete a sheet metal rule

1. In the Design workspace, Sheet Metal tab, select Modify > Sheet Metal Rules .
2. Expand the Library drop-down, hover over the rule, and click Delete.

Tips

• You can only delete a sheet metal rule that is not currently assigned to a component.

• You can use the thickness value as a local variable in the Edit Rule dialog.

• Expressions can be set up for various variables using the rule's "Thickness" as a local variable. For example, "Relief depth = Thickness * 0.5".
