  • Manually selecting the area to be extruded isn't hard. I wouldn't recommend trying to import a dxf file with a 1000 layers (unless you have a really good computer and lots of time on your hands).

  • You then might either want to adjust the lead in/out values, or turn on Ramp from the passes tab to cut down to each level. If these don't work and you do want to helix down, the best thing to do (as 2D Contour doesn't give a helix ramp option) would be to draw a circle next to your square and extrude this as a surface, and then Bore this to effectively create a helix entry.

  • Made the other 3 walls as thin wall Extrude new body, cut the mitres and notches, joined the SM body to the frame cut pieces with Combine join, then Refolded all into place.

  • After converting the cut off portion to a base feature I created a line/path to sweep it along but Fusion doesn't let me select the cut off portion as an element to sweep with.
