Manually selecting the area to be extruded isn't hard. I wouldn't recommend trying to import a dxf file with a 1000 layers (unless you have a really good computer and lots of time on your hands).

BR Hi, I'll answer your private question here: After extruding the whole body, I can select the individual profiles for the extrude / cut operations.

You then might either want to adjust the lead in/out values, or turn on Ramp from the passes tab to cut down to each level. If these don't work and you do want to helix down, the best thing to do (as 2D Contour doesn't give a helix ramp option) would be to draw a circle next to your square and extrude this as a surface, and then Bore this to effectively create a helix entry.

You have a sliver body so small it can not be seen in the window, but earlier in the construction you were Extrude cutting them out of existence, where the body > Remove would save a few sketch / Extrude manoeuvres, two sketch / extrudes that might be symmetrical, in separate sketch extrudes .

Made the other 3 walls as thin wall Extrude new body, cut the mitres and notches, joined the SM body to the frame cut pieces with Combine join, then Refolded all into place.

After converting the cut off portion to a base feature I created a line/path to sweep it along but Fusion doesn't let me select the cut off portion as an element to sweep with.
