To tell the machine how quickly to rotate the spindle, we must program its spindle speed. By typing S 1000 M03 and pressing Cycle Start, the machine turns the spindle on at 1,000 revolutions per minute (rpm).

S: Spindle Speed Just like feedrate, you’ll set your spindle speed by using S, followed by a number. S 1000 will give you 1000 rpm on the spindle, though it won’t automatically begin spinning.

So when you switch one of them to the 1000 configuration, the other two also switch to their 1000 configuration.
