Edit In Place associativity

You can control associativity for Edit In Place sessions in Fusion.

There are two associativity options:

  • Associative
  • Non-Associative

associativity options

Associative (default)

When associativity is set to Associative, you can:

  • Add features to a component or edit its existing features, as if you were editing it in a separate tab.
  • See other components in context within the design.
  • Measure to other components in the design.
  • Reference the geometry of other components in the design.
  • Create an Assembly Context in the design.

Non-Associative

When associativity is set to Non-Associative, you can:

  • Add features to a component or edit its existing features, as if you were editing it in a separate tab.
  • See other components in context within the design.
  • Measure to other components in the design.

You cannot:

  • Reference the geometry of other components in the design.
  • Create an Assembly Context in the design.
