Derive configurations
Learn how to derive Configurations into other design documents in Fusion.
Derive
- Open a Configured Design
.
- On the toolbar, click Create > Derive.
- In the Derive dialog and canvas, select:
- A Configuration to derive.
- A new or existing Destination design.
- The Type of derive, objects or components.
- Components, objects, or parameters to derive.
- Click OK.
The selected components, objects, or parameters are derived into the Destination design. A Derive feature displays in the Timeline.
Insert Derive
Open any type of design you want to derive into.
On the toolbar, click Insert > Insert Derive.
Select a Configured Design
.
The Select Configuration dialog displays.
In the dialog, select a Configuration.
Click OK.
The Configured Design
opens with the selected Configuration active. The Derive dialog displays.
In the Derive dialog and canvas, select objects or parameters to derive.
Click OK.
The Configured Design closes. The selected objects or parameters are derived into the design you started in. A Derive feature displays in the Timeline.
