Add a mark to a board

A mark can be placed in a strategic location on a circuit board to act as a 2D spatial reference point for defining the locations and dimensions of components, polygons, or other features.

  1. In the Electronics workspace, on the PCB Document toolbar, click Draw > Mark Mark icon.
  2. As you move the cursor on the board, note that at the top of the canvas the grid spacing appears (default 50 mil) and the X and Y coordinates of the cursor location in relation to the origin.
  3. Click to place the mark.
  4. Now when you move the cursor, at the top of the canvas you see beside 'R' the relative X and Y distance from the mark to the cursor location, and beside 'P' the polar coordinates, radius and angle, from the mark to the cursor location.

Move a mark

Click Draw > Mark again and click to place the mark. The mark moves to the new location.

Remove a mark

On the command line, type MARK; and press Enter.
