Override dimension settings

Learn how to override the settings of a single dimension on a sheet in the Drawing workspace in Fusion.

Although the default dimension settings are defined by the document settings, you can override the settings of any dimension.

Override settings for a dimension

  1. Double-click the dimension.

    The Dimension dialog displays.

  2. In the Dimension dialog, adjust the settings:

    • Representation
    • Insert Symbol
    • Primary Units
    • Linear Precision
    • Zeros/Units
    • Alternate Units
    • Tolerances
    • Inspection
  3. Click Close.

The changes apply to the dimension.

Note: Once you override the settings of a dimension in this way, the settings you changed no longer adjust to the changes you make to the document settings.

Restore default settings for a dimension

If you override the settings of any dimension, you can restore the dimension to the defaults define in the Document Settings.

  1. Select the dimension.
  2. Right-click, then select Restore from the context menu that displays below the Marking menu.

All of the settings for that dimension will restore to the settings defined in the Document Settings.
