Create a numbering scheme
This feature is part of an extension. Extensions are a flexible way to access additional capabilities in Fusion. Learn more.
As a Fusion Manage Extension administrator, you can set up item numbering schemes for your organization. This enables team members to assign item numbers that match existing formats that may already be in use in your organization. Schemes are categorized by type, and include a default scheme for each type (for example, Component or Drawing). There is also a system scheme called Mapped (System) that allows you to enter your own item number in the Properties dialog. To learn more, read Assign an existing item number.
Before you start:
- You must be working in a Fusion Manage Extension hub.
- You must be an administrator for that hub.
- Once a scheme is created, it cannot be modified or deleted. For this reason, you should make sure your parameters and settings are correct before you finish adding the scheme.
Create a numbering scheme
In the upper right corner of the Fusion web client window, click your profile and select Admin.

Deselecting this can be useful if the scheme wasn't created properly or is no longer in use, since schemes can't be edited or deleted.
