Activity 2: Edit properties in the BOM

In this activity, you'll explore all the locations where you can find the bill of materials and update some of the properties.
Steps
View the bill of materials in the Fusion Manage Extension site.
- Open the Wireless Speaker in the Fusion desktop client.
- From the Manage tab, go to Process Management then click Details.
- Open the Bill of Materials tab.
Configure the columns to include the Notes columns.
In the top-right corner, click the Column Settings icon.
Click to select the Notes columns and any others you want to include.
Your settings are saved automatically, and the BOM opens this way from now on until you change or reset it.
Show the released BOM.
At the top of the page beside the item name and number, click the revision drop-down and select Production (Latest).
The revision drop-down shows [REV:A] once you've selected the revision you want to view. The bill of materials updates to show the BOM for the released Wireless Speaker.
Show the parts list.
In the top-left corner, click the Layout Switcher drop-down and select Parts Only.
Edit properties for the Wireless Speaker in the BOM.
Change the filters to show the full structure of the Working BOM.
Note: This is because you can only edit properties in the BOM only when the component is in a Working state and not Released.In the Wireless Speaker row, double-click the Note 1 field.
Enter new text into the box, then press

.View the Wireless Speaker properties in the Fusion desktop client (properties panel, BOM table) and confirm they have been updated there as well.
Repeat the above in the Fusion web client.
At the top of the page under the item name and number, click Linked.
This takes you to the component in the Fusion web client.
Open the Bill of Materials tab.
Explore the functionality here to see that it is the same as the other locations you've explored.
This means that other team members who may have different Fusion licenses can view the bill of materials provided they have the correct permissions.
