Stitch surface bodies

Learn how to use the Stitch tool to combine two or more surface bodies into a single surface or solid body in Fusion.

  1. On the toolbar, click Surface > Modify > Stitch stitch icon.

    The Stitch dialog displays.

  2. Select the faces to stitch into a single body.

  3. Click OK.

The faces are stitched together and the single surface body displays in the canvas. If the surfaces can be stitched to form a watertight body, Fusion creates a solid body.

Tips

  • You can adjust the tolerance in the Stitch dialog to repair an imported body by closing gaps. Edges within the join Tolerance display in green.
  • The number of free edges and the number of edges to be stitched together display in the dialog.
  • You can expand the Unstitched Edges table and click through the entries to see the gaps.
