Import or export parameters

Learn how to import and export User Parameters in Fusion.

Export parameters

  1. Open a design that contains User Parameters.

  2. Click Design > Solid > Modify > Change Parameters change parameters icon.

    The Parameters dialog displays.

  3. Click Export Parameters export parameters icon.

    The Export Parameters dialog displays.

  4. Enter a Name for the exported file.

  5. Specify the Location to save the file.

  6. Click Save.

The User Parameters are exported as a CSV file and saved in the specified location.

Import parameters

  1. In an open design, click Design > Solid > Modify > Change Parameters change parameters icon.

    The Parameters dialog displays.

  2. Click Import Parameters import parameters icon.

    The Import Parameters dialog displays.

  3. Navigate to a location in a Fusion project or on your computer.

  4. Select a CSV file to import.

  5. Click Open.

    The Selected Parameters dialog displays with a list of parameters.

  6. Uncheck any parameters you don't want to import into this design.

  7. Click Import.

The User Parameters are imported into the design and display in the Parameters dialog.

Tips

  • Export a set of user parameters to use as a template in an external table editor so that the header format is correct.
  • Give each parameter a unique name to avoid conflicts when you import them into your design.
  • Verify that the parameter's expression unit matches the parameter's selected unit type and that the unit type is permitted.
  • Optionally, check Save to a project in the cloud to save the CSV file to a Fusion project.
