Volumetric properties
In Fusion, you can transform some of the volumetric properties of a solid or closed mesh body.
This feature is part of an extension. Extensions are a flexible way to access additional capabilities in Fusion. Learn more.
Volumetric properties define different aspects of the interior volume of a solid or closed mesh body. When you apply scalar values to a volumetric property, you can control a gradient of results throughout the 3D volume.
Volumetric Lattice
The Volumetric Lattice tool modifies existing solid or closed mesh bodies to create complex volumetric lattices that alter the shape and appearance of a design. It adds an internal lattice structure within the boundary of the body in Fusion.
Select a body, then select a cell shape and adjust its distribution, solidity, and offset settings. You can only apply one volumetric lattice per component.
Bodies with volumetric lattice structures can only be used in the Additive setups. If you want to use the geometric results of a volumetric lattice in other workspaces in Fusion, you need to convert it to a mesh body. In the Browser right-click the body with the volumetric lattice assigned and select Create Mesh to convert the lattice to a mesh body.
