STEP File Save As Options reference

Sets the STEP format and specifies information added to the header section of the STEP file when exporting an Autodesk Inventor assembly or part, or when exporting surface data, to a STEP file. When you save an assembly as a STEP file, the assembly and all referenced parts are saved to a single file.

Note: Only visible surfaces in part modeling are exported.

Access:

In the Save Copy As dialog box: Set the Save as type to STEP files. Click Options.

Application Protocol	Sets the format for the STEP file to AP 203 or AP 214. Click either 203 or 214 to select the format.
Tolerance	Defines the export tolerance for the STEP file. The accepted range for the tolerance value is from 0.00001 cm to 0.001 cm. A smaller tolerance creates more accurate geometry approximations and larger file size.
Include Sketches	Select to include visible 2D and 3D sketches in the exported file. Each sketch is exported to a group. The group names correspond to the sketch names.
Authorization	Adds one or more authorization names to the header in the STEP file. Enter the names.
Author	Adds one or more names of the authors to the header in the STEP file. Enter the names.
Organization	Adds information about the organization to the header in the STEP file. Enter the organization name or other information.
Description	Adds a description to the header in the STEP file. Enter the description.
