The Project Template enables you to exercise more control over the baseline characteristics of your projects. While it is expedient to allow Green Building Studio to apply regional code-compliant defaults to your project, these defaults may not be appropriate.
For example, if your firm works on Office Laboratory projects, the Project Template feature gives you the ability to specify higher levels of outside air. Perhaps your project involves renovating an existing building--the Project Template feature allows you to better depict the actual characteristics of your project, which likely includes envelope or HVAC systems that perform well below existing energy code thresholds. Once you have your baseline defined through the Project Template, the energy efficiency measures you choose in the Design Alternatives feature provides you with more meaningful information.
