This option only applies when aligning surface edges, and when Continuity is G1 Tangent, G2 Curvature or G3 Curvature. It allows the tangent, G2 curvature and G3 curvature CV rows to move along one direction only (specified by a vector). The Align tool attempts the best alignment given this constraint.
