To synchronize models

Once you have downloaded a published model for the first time, you then use Synchronize to send and get changes to the model.

Sync sorts out differences among changes sent by members of a group and resolves conflicts among them using InfraWorks 360 resources and protocols. You only send your changes to the cloud and only get changes from the cloud to update your local copy with the latest synchronized version.
  1. Open the model.
  2. Optional: Open Manage Online Models to check for space in the group account. The panel lists the total amount of space remaining for the group account. You cannot sync if there is not enough space for your model. See To view model information.
  3. Click Sync to open the Synchronize Model panel.
  4. The panel shows a snapshot list. The list includes Common Resources shared by the model master, proposals, scenarios. These resources include scenario definitions, storyboards, bookmarks, themes, and settings on the Model Explorer.

If you leave this snapshot list open for a while, if may become out of date. Click Refresh inside the panel to update it.

  5. Optional: describe changes you are uploading.
  6. This information is stored in the model history.

  7. Optional: de-select items you have changed locally that you do not want to update at this time.
  8. By default, the panel check-marks the model and any proposals you have changed, selecting them for uploading.
    • Clear the checkbox (de-select it) if you do not want to upload changes to a specific proposal at this time.
    • Clear the checkbox for Common Resources to avoid updating them at this time.
  9. Click Sync to start synchronization process.
    • Close the Synchronize model panel.
    • When synchronization completes, the service displays a message.
    • Close the message box
  10. The model regenerates automatically.

Note: If the model does not regenerate properly from the Synchronization panel, use Regenerate or press F5, its keyboard shortcut.
