Unfold sketch with sheet metal feature

Working in a folded sheet metal model with at least one flat face, use the Unfold command to unfold one or more sheet metal bends or rolls relative to a reference face. The Unfold command adds an unfold feature to your sheet metal part browser. You can add other features to the flattened portion of the model. A refold feature can then be added to refold all or some of the unfolded bends or rolls.

Unconsumed sketches on the faces to be unfolded can be selected and copied to the unfolded face. The original sketch can remain displayed or optionally be removed from display. Copied sketches are shown in the browser as children of the unfold feature.

  1. On the ribbon, click Sheet Metal tab Modify panel Unfold .
  2. Click a face or plane to be used as the unfold reference.
  3. Click individual highlighted bends or rolls to be unfolded. Optionally, use Add All Bends to select all the geometry highlighted.
  4. Preview the flattened state and add or delete bends or rolls to obtain the desired flat.
  5. Click the Sketches arrow to allow sketch selection.
  6. Select unconsumed sketches that you would also like to unfold.
  7. Optionally, check or cancel Parent is Visible to display or not display the parent sketch following the unfold.
  8. Click OK.
