If your relationship strategy or design requirements change, you can delete an assembly joint or constraint.
To visualize the component relationships in the graphics window, do the following:
- Click the Free Move command and then move a component.
- Alternatively, click the Show command and then select a component.
- The relationship glyphs appear on the components in the graphics window.
- Select a relationship glyph, and in the context menu select the Delete option.
In the browser, do the following:
- Click the plus sign (+) to expand components.
- Pause the cursor over the relationship to delete. The related parts are highlighted.
- Right-click the relationship, and then select Delete. The relationship is outlined with a red box and related features are highlighted.
Tip: An alternate method for deleting a relationship is to select the relationship in the browser, and then press the Delete key.
In a complicated assembly, components can obscure the features or components whose relationships you want to delete. If you prefer, click the component in the graphics window to highlight it in the browser. Or in the browser, select the component, right-click, and then select Find in Window.
Note: If you chose to display the contents of the browser using the Modeling View, relationships are listed under the Relationships folder at the top of the browser. If you have difficulty determining which relationship applies to a component, display the browser contents using the Position View before you delete relationships.
