Import files with Task Scheduler

Import and convert files from other CAD programs.

  1. In the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window, click Import Files .

    The information in the task list switches to show any import files tasks that you saved previously.

  2. In the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window, right-click, and select Create Task Import Files.
  3. In the Import Files dialog box, Task pane, specify an Autodesk Inventor project, if applicable.
  4. Click Add Files or Add Folder. Specify the files or folders for the task.

    The files and folders you select are added to the Input Folder, Input File Name, Output Folder, and Output File Name.

    If your selection is a folder:

    • To include subfolders, click the corresponding level of the Recursive column.
    • To specify the file types within the folder to include in the task, change the entry in the Input File Name column.

    If necessary, repeat the steps to add more files and folders.

  5. In the Task Properties box, enter a task name and a time-out threshold.
  6. Specify a schedule, or select the Immediately option.
  7. In Log File, leave the checkbox selected for the default, or
    • To overwrite the default, enter an existing folder and a file name . If the log file does not exist, it is created.
    • Click Browse to find and select an existing file.
    • To specify no log file, clear the checkbox.
  8. In the files list window, select a file, and Click Options. The import options dialog boxes in Task Scheduler are almost the same as the import options dialog boxes in Inventor.

    Set the options, or a default set of options is used.

    Click OK.

  9. In the Import Files dialog box, click OK.

    For the first task you create during the current session, the Authentication dialog box displays. Enter your Microsoft Windows log in name and password.
