Features in Autodesk Inventor View conform to Microsoft Windows conventions, and most Windows-based applications. The work environment includes the View window, the graphics window, the toolbars, the browser, and the context (right-click) menus.
Whenever Autodesk Inventor View is active, the main window displays. The graphics window, the toolbars, and the browser are all contained within the main window. By default, the Standard toolbar is at top of the screen, and the browser is on the left side.
Whenever a file is open, the graphics window displays. When only one file is open in Autodesk Inventor View, the graphics window of the file is maximized. If more than one file is open, each file appears in its own graphics window. The window containing the file you are working on is called the active window.
You can change the way the graphics windows are displayed using the Windows drop-down menu. You can open the existing file in a new window, minimize all windows, and display them in a cascade or tiled fashion.
The standard toolbar contains the open, print, zoom, pan, display mode, and standard views commands.
The browser shows the hierarchical structure of parts, assemblies, and drawings. The browser is unique to each environment and displays the information for the active file.
As you use work in Autodesk Inventor View, symbols often appear next to the cursor. These symbols indicate that you are operating in a certain mode, or that certain commands are available for use. You can right-click to display a context menu for more information about the available options.
