Task Scheduler dialog box

Provides the environment for managing automated tasks.

Autodesk Inventor and other applications.

Access

On the Start menu, click Programs Autodesk Autodesk Inventor [version] Tools Task Scheduler.

An icon is added to the Windows system tray when the Task Scheduler dialog box is minimized.

File

Log In to Vault opens the Log in to the Vault dialog box where you enter your User ID and password to log in to the vault.

Log out from Vault logs you out of the vault and displays the Log Out Was Successful dialog box.

Compact Database Compacts the Access database file that stores the information for a task in Task Scheduler.

Exit closes the Task Scheduler window.

Create Task

Provides a list of the task managers from which you select one to open.

View

Refresh updates the information in the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window.

Today's Task displays tasks that ran, are running, or were scheduled today, including repetitive tasks.

Sort by Next Run Tim sorts tasks by the time they are scheduled to run, starting with the next to run.

Sort by Name sorts tasks alphabetically by name.

Settings

Options displays the Log file Options dialog box where you specify the location for log files for tasks that you run. In the task dialog boxes, displays as the default log file. Changes in the log file in a task dialog box overwrite the default setting.

Column Chooser displays a list of all possible columns for display in the main Task Scheduler dialog box, task list. Customizes the configuration of columns in the Task Scheduler.

Multiple Processes displays the Multi-Process Settings dialog box where you turn on the Multiple Processes option and specify the settings for it.

Task Scheduler Help opens the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler Help.

About Task Scheduler displays Task Scheduler application version number and copyright information.

Task Scheduler window

All Tasks

Lists your tasks of the type selected in the task buttons, or separates them into categories:

• Future Dates displays tasks that will run in the future, but not today.
• Today displays tasks that ran, are running, or were scheduled today, including repetitive tasks.
• Past Dates queries and displays tasks that do not have a next run time and are not scheduled today.

Task list

Lists tasks of the type specified in the task buttons and selected in the task tree. Status is refreshed every second. You can sort tasks by any column in the task list.

Task buttons

Switches the display in the Autodesk Inventor Task Scheduler window to list all tasks or tasks of the selected type. Click the arrows at the bottom of the list for options:

• Show Fewer Buttons - replaces the last button in the list with an icon in the bottom bar.
• Show More Buttons - replaces an icon in the bottom bar with a button in the list, in the order the buttons were converted to icons.

Description box

Task Info Describes briefly the task currently selected in the task list, including task settings and status.

Log Info Displays the log details of the task currently selected in the task list.

Context menu

Create Task Displays a submenu of task types. To start a new task, select a task type.

Refresh Refreshes the settings in the dialog box.

Today's Tasks Lists only tasks scheduled for the current day.

Sort by Next Run Time Sorts the task list by Next Run Time.

Sort by Name Sorts the task list by Name.
