Analyze curvature

  1. Open a part file or double-click a part in an assembly to edit the part in-place.
  2. On the ribbon, click Inspect tab Analysis panel Curvature .
Tip: After the initial analysis is saved, you can right-click the Analysis folder in the Model browser, and then select New Curvature Comb Analysis from the context menu.
  3. If appropriate, enter a custom name.
Tip: After the initial analysis is saved, you can slow double-click the Analysis folder in the Model browser to change the name.
  4. Modify settings that determine the appearance of analysis results along each curve and edge of the selected geometry.
    • Specify the spacing between spines.
    • Specify the scale (length) of the spines.
    • Specify the density of the sample curves for the interior faces. A higher density means there are more curve sample locations along the surface.
  5. Select All, Faces, Quilts, Groups (Construction environment only), or Wires (Construction environment only), and then select the appropriate geometry.
  6. Set the curvature comb display in the selected direction: Direction1, Direction2, or both.
  7. Click OK to analyze. If you prefer, click Apply to analyze and keep the dialog box open, and then reapply the analysis style to different geometry or change settings and analyze as needed.
