You enter numeric parameter names or values in edit boxes when you edit dimensions, create offset work planes, or edit offset constraints. Use the edit boxes to define or edit numeric parameter names or values.
You can enter:
- A new numeric parameter name.
- A specific numeric value.
- The numeric parameter name for a previously entered value. If the value is displayed in the graphics window, you can click it to enter its name automatically.
- The name of a numeric parameter defined in the Parameters dialog box or in a linked spreadsheet.
- An
equation
. The equation can contain numeric values and numeric parameters.
You can also click the arrow next to the edit box and select:
- From a list of recently used numeric parameters or values.
- The Measure command to measure a linear distance. The measured distance is automatically entered.
- Show Dimensions to show dimensions on existing features. Click any displayed dimension to enter its parameter name.
- List Parameters to show a list of user-defined numeric parameters.
- Set the format for the parameter as Inferred, Decimal, Fractional, or Architectural. These options are only available if the display units are feet or inches.
