Constrain curve to be tangent

The tangent constraint causes curves, including ends of a spline, to be tangent to other curves. One curve can be tangent to another, even if they do not physically share a point.

  1. On the ribbon, click Sketch tab Constrain panel Tangent .
  2. Click the first curve.

In 3D sketches, the first selected curve must be a spline. Subsequent selections can be any geometry in the 3D sketch, including a model edge, that shares an endpoint with the spline.

  3. Click the second curve.
  4. Continue to place tangent constraints, or do one of the following to quit:
    • Right-click, and select Done.
    • Press Esc.
    • Select another command.

Note: A curve can have multiple tangency constraints.
