Every Autodesk Inventor file contains a set of properties called iProperties. You can use iProperties to track and manage files, create reports, and automatically update assembly bills of materials, drawing parts lists, title blocks, and other information pieces.
When you create a new model or drawing, the author and part number iProperties are set automatically. You can decide what other iProperties to set and use from within Autodesk Inventor.
You can view iProperties when the file is open in Autodesk Inventor View, but you can also view properties without opening the file. Right-click the file in Microsoft Windows Explorer to view its iProperties.
